SOMETHING IN THE GAME
SOMETHING IN THE GAME is a vibrant new musical about the universal story of Knute Rockne's journey to discover what's important in the "game of life".
March with us across the goal line to find there's truly
"something in the game".
The volcanic island of Atlantis, the year of Thera 100 (1640 BCE).
Atlanteans are a peaceful, agrarian people, numbering 10,000 beings, who revere their ancestor Thera in all her forms.
The Order, comprising the heads of each of the five clans (Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Aether), guides
civic matters to ensure the propagation of tradition and a sustainable future. ATLANTIS charts the week leading up to the destruction of the ancient mythological kingdom. When the nation's first ever visitor, Maia, leads the citizens of Atlantis to question their most deeply held beliefs, the island’s heir apparent, Thea, takes it upon herself to prove Maia’s innocence and save her people from imminent extinction.
With music and lyrics by Matthew Lee Robinson, book by Ken Cernigia and additional story by Scott Morris, ATLANTIS has undergone several New York City readings featuring actors Ciara Renee, Oak Onaodowan, and Beth Leavel. Previously, ATLANTIS has been developed at the 2015 Canadian Music Theatre Project in Toronto. NYC readings have received developmental feedback from Stephen Schwartz and representatives from Disney Theatrical Productions, Dreamworks, Le Cirque, Manhattan Theatre Club, Stuart Thompson Productions and The Araca Group. These New York readings were partially financed and supported by the Australia Council for the Arts and Australian arts and investment organization Power Arts.
In 2015, ATLANTIS - IN CONCERT was the recipient of the
Australian Theatrepeople Pro Choice Award for Best Concert Presentation.
